NSBA urges Senate HELP Committee to ensure local governance structure is upheld

In advance of today's “ESSA Implementation in States and School Districts: Perspectives from Education Leaders” hearing, the National School Boards Association sent a letter to the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee urging them to help ensure that the local governance structure established in the Every Student Succeeds Act is upheld and to provide recommendations as the Committee discusses next steps for ESSA implementation and the “promise to restore state and local control."
