Tennessee School Boards Association Named NSBA Leading Edge Award Winner

(August 18, 2018) – The National School Boards Association (NSBA) announced today the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA), winner of the Leading Edge Award for its Tennessee Digital Resources Library (TDRL). The TDRL, an innovative statewide initiative, provides teachers and administrators free access to a vast collection of curated educational resources including best teaching practices and strategies for creating individualized learning experiences for students.

NSBA Applauds Passage of Career & Technical Education for the 21st Century Act

National Survey Awards School Districts for Innovative Technology Initiatives 

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – March 29, 2018 – The Center for Digital Education is proud to announce the winners of the 2017-18 Digital School Districts Survey Awards. These districts are innovating in exemplary ways by investing in tools and learning models for the next-generation learners. Now in its 14th year, the Digital School Districts Survey Awards recognize commendable use of technology by school boards and districts. The awards are presented by the Center for Digital Education at the National School Boards Association’s annual conference each spring. 
 

 

Hillsborough County Public Schools Honored for Enhancing Educational Equity

Alexandria, Va., (April 11, 2018) - NSBA's Black Council of School Board Members (NBC) presented its Recognizing Innovative Strategies in Equity (RISE) Award to Hillsborough County Public Schools, Tampa, Florida, during NSBA’s Annual Conference in San Antonio, April 7-9. In its inaugural year, the RISE Award honors a school board for its excellence in policies, practices, and strategies that promote and enhance equitable outcomes and career readiness for African American students.

Guilford County Schools Board of Education Winner of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Award

(April 9, 2018) - The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the Guilford County Schools Board of Education in Greensboro, North Carolina, has received the 30th annual Kennedy Center and National School Boards Association (NSBA) Award. The award, which includes a $10,000 prize, was presented on Saturday, April 7, at NSBA’s Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas.

NSBA Announces President Frank Pugh and New Board Leadership

Alexandria, Va. (April 9, 2018) - NSBA today announces its president and board leadership for 2018-19: Frank C. Pugh of California’s Santa Rosa City Schools District, President; Beth Branham of South Carolina’s Lexington School District Two, President-elect; and Charlie E. Wilson of Columbus, Ohio’s Worthington City Schools, Secretary-Treasurer. Kevin E. Ciak of New Jersey’s Sayreville Public Schools will now serve as Immediate Past-President.
