NSBA Announces President ElizaBeth Branham and New Board Leadership

Alexandria, Va., (April 3, 2019) – The National School Boards Association (NSBA) announces its new president and board leadership for 2019-2020: ElizaBethBeth” Branham of South Carolina’s Lexington School District Two, President; Charlie Wilson of Ohio’s Worthington City Schools, President-elect; and Viola M. Garcia of Texas’ Aldine Independent School District, Secretary-Treasurer. 

NSBA Council of School Attorneys Elects New Leadership for 2019-2020

Philadelphia, Pa. (March 30, 2019) — The National School Boards Association (NSBA) Council of School Attorneys (COSA), the national network of attorneys representing K-12 public school districts, elected new leaders and directors at its annual meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

COSA supports school attorneys and provides leadership in legal advocacy for public schools; its 22-member Board of Directors oversees its continuing legal education programming and working groups for its more than 3,100 members across the United States and Canada.

Three School Districts Earn Top Honors in 2019 Magna Awards for Equity Programs

Alexandria, Va., (March 7, 2019) – Winchester Public Schools, Winchester, Virginia; Coatesville Area School District, Thorndale, Pennsylvania; and Des Moines Public Schools, Des Moines, Iowa, are the grand-prize winners in the 25th annual Magna Awards program sponsored by the National School Boards Association’s flagship magazine, American School Board Journal (ASBJ).

NSBA Launches New Initiative to Reauthorize and Fully Fund the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
