Web Developer

The National School Boards Association (NSBA) seeks a Web Developer who will deploy and support web applications, web sites and software to support the Association’s strategic plans and goals for the web.

Minimum qualifications:5+ Years of software development experience with multiple languages; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience in the computer science field; experience in design, implementation, and maintenance of websites and servers; experience with Amazon Web Services; experience with web standards, writing cross-browser compliant HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, jQuery, Bootstrap and addressing browser incompatibilities; demonstrated expertise with web publishing and authoring software; experience with object oriented programming using PHP and C#/.NET; experience developing and consuming web services (SOAP and REST) for both Linux and Microsoft platforms; in-depth experience with MySQL, MS SQL Server and database management; experience Linux, Windows Servers, Microsoft IIS, NGINX and Apache; demonstrated ability in writing shell scripts; experience with web management tools/techniques, and security practices; extensive knowledge of networking technology such as TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP, SCP, SSH and DNS; extensive experience with CMS such as Drupal and Wordpress; experience developing customizations for Drupal, Wordpress; experience with version control such as TFS, Git & SVN; and ability to evaluate, recommend, and execute plans to implement new and evolving website technologies; and demonstrated ability to accomplish multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.

These local officials govern more than 13,600 local school districts serving the nation’s 50 million public school students. NSBA achieves that mission by representing the school board perspective in working with federal government agencies and national organizations that impact education, and provides vital information and services to state associations of school boards throughout the nation.
