For the first time, American children are slated to live a shorter life span than their parents. “What is particularly tragic is that studies have suggested that obesity in children today may contribute to a two - to five-year decline in their life expectancy due to obesity-related diseases that are largely preventable with the appropriate nutrition.”

This panel discusses the effects of food and nutrition on student achievement, life-long wellness and successful strategies for improving the quality of foods served in school to improve student achievement, consumption and student satisfaction.
