Kanisha Williams-Jones is the Director of Leadership Services at the National School Boards Association, and has been involved in leadership and professional development work for more than 20 years.

Williams-Jones leads the organizational focus on school board leadership training and development initiatives that impact student achievement and relate to NSBA’s governance framework through leadership publications, conference programming, and services to NSBA’s member state associations. Williams-Jones also provides oversight of association-wide leadership programming for NSBA’s Annual Conference, and designs and directs the content for association leaders at NSBA’s Summer Leadership Seminar. Williams-Jones is the lead staffer serving as staff liaison to NSBA’s State Association trainers’ group and superintendent searcher’s group.

Prior to joining NSBA, Williams-Jones was a forum coordinator and special assistant for a USAID-funded refugee and aid relief umbrella organization, and worked as an education and events manager for a trade association in the Washington, D.C. area. She is currently a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the International Association of Expositions and Events.

Williams-Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in government and political science from the College of William and Mary and is a proud graduate of Virginia’s Fairfax County Public School system.
