Leading national and state organizations share the U.S. Environment Protection Agency's (EPA) concerns over potential health risks of PCBs (polychlorinaed biphenyls) in schools and daycares.  A joint letter dated September 29, 2016 to EPA, the undersigned leaders representing city, county and school district leaders ask the formal rulemaking be postponed until further EPA action is taken to determine the full scope of the rulemaking and the unintended consequences this action may have on local governments, schools, the teachers they employ, and the students they serve.
