Alexandria, Va. (Dec. 18, 2013) - The following statement is by the National School Boards Association Executive Director Thomas J. Gentzel praising the U.S. Senate for passing the budget plan known as the Bipartisan Budget Act, which seeks to restore many of the cuts to prek-12 education:

Highlighting Emerging Companies That Represent the Diversity of New Technology Solutions in Education
Alexandria, Va.  (Jan. 3, 2013) – The National School Boards Association (NSBA), with more than 25 years experience through its Technology Leadership Network (TLN), is pleased to announce the six companies selected for its first Technology Innovation Showcase.

“The Technology Innovation Showcase was created to highlight emerging companies that represent the diversity of new solutions in education,” said Ann Flynn, NSBA’s Director of Education Technology.

College drop-out rates continue to be high and are hindering America’s economic progress

Alexandria, Va. (Oct. 11, 2012) - A new study from the National School Board Association’s Center for Public Education shows how students can succeed once they enter college. The report, “High school rigor and good advice: Setting up students to succeed,” found that high-level courses in high school, particularly in mathematics, and college help students earn their degrees.
