NSBA voices opposition to vouchers and tuition tax credits in letter to Senators

The National School Boards Association signed onto a letter penned by the National Coalition for Public Education (NCPE), to all members of the senate, expressing strong opposition to any amendments to the Fiscal 2016 Senate Budget Resolution (S. Con Res. 11) that would support the creation of a private school voucher or tuition tax credit program. Voucher and tuition tax credit programs divert resources away from the public school system and fund the education of a few, select voucher students while ignoring overall student academic achievement. The letter additionally outlines why opposing private school vouchers and tuition tax credits benefits the public school system and students across the country. NSBA is joined  by over 50 other NCPE members who represent a broad coalition of advocates for public schools. Read the entire letter here.
