Chief Member Services Officer

The National School Boards Association seeks a Chief Member Services Officer to manage and coordinate all aspects of NSBA's relations with its State Association Members along with directing District programs and services. The incumbent will:

  • Build relationships with and among member state school boards association staff and leadership;
  • Oversee the development, collection and dissemination of high quality information and resources throughout the State Associations;
  • Work closely with executive directors and NSBA program staff proactively to develop programs and services that are valued and responsive to the member State Associations;
  • Develop and service the national value proposition for NSBA’s National Connection program
  • Oversee NSBA’s general education and training functions for the Annual Conference, State Association activities, and selected other programs;
  • Develop and cultivate entrepreneurial programs that provide services and revenue opportunities to state associations and to NSBA;
  • Actively work within the NSBA staff to focus all staff members’ attention on and assure staff’s understanding of the primacy of State Associations as NSBA’s members;

Minimum qualifications include: Master’s degree in education, public administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; seven years association management or equivalent experience in a federation of state associations; in-depth knowledge of education policy issues; demonstrated entrepreneurial skills; experience managing high-level research and program staff; proficiency with computer/information technology and its current and future applications to job goals; and excellent communication skills, including demonstrated ability to work with teams of people and build relationships with members.
