East Elementary School earned a High rating in 2008-09 and was one of only three elementary schools with over 50% Free and Reduced Lunch eligibility to earn such a rating in Colorado. East has over 78% of students qualifying and dozens of languages spoken. The significant language and socio-economic challenges are never an excuse at East as the school has embarked on a literacy improvement program with an emphasis on writing and has embraced the use of technology to also transform their classrooms into 21st Century learning experiences. The school faculty is in relentless pursuit of student achievement. Visitors are invited to bring wireless devices. All LPS schools provide wireless services open to personally owned technologies. No security information or configuration will be necessary.

Join us as we visit one of the leading STEM programs in the country and learn about its 1:1 lap top program at the same time. The Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) is a free, open- enrollment public school serving middle and high school students. DSST truly integrates technology into every aspect of the school - which has lead to some of the best student achievement results in Colorado. DSST's approach is predicated on a standards- based pedagogy and values-based school culture delivered in a college preparatory liberal arts program with a science and technology focus. DSST is the only "Distinguished" rated high school in Denver and 100% of its graduates have been accepted into four year colleges.

Welby New Technology, a small Mapleton high school, supports a one-to-one student-to-computer ratio and integrates technology into the mastery of the core subjects of English, social studies, science and math. At Welby, students use technology as a tool to prepare them for any career choice. Join us for a tour and see how the Welby New Technology school design integrates the use of technology, project-based learning, devoted staff members, and college readiness.
