TLN Members-Only Site Visit
Rutherford County Schools: Moving Beyond Excellence, Tuesday, October 16, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Located approximately 35 miles from Nashville, the Rutherford County Schools are located in the fastest growing county of the state. The district is adding about 1,500 students annually, which translates into a need for 1-2 new schools each year. Currently, this preK-12 district serves nearly 35,000 students with 40 schools and an adult education center. The Rutherford County Schools are in the midst of completing one of the most comprehensive technology programs in Tennessee using a framework guided by four principles. Technology initiatives must be equitable, standards-based, scalable, and supportable. Participants will visit elementary and middles schools where technology has been integrated throughout the curriculum and teachers have access to multimedia centers in their classrooms. The visit will also highlight the roles of both administrators and school-based technology specialists in supporting technology integration efforts, and how technology is used in after school tutoring programs. This is your chance to experience this one-of-a-kind venue with its combination of history, culture, and entertainment, while networking with your old and new friends.
