Schwartz v. Lopez/Duncan v. State of Nevada

The Nevada Supreme Court has ruled that the Nevada’s Education Savings Accounts (ESA) program, also known as SB 302, does not violate Article 11, Section 2 of the Nevada Constitution, which requires the state legislature to provide for “a uniform system of common schools.” It also concluded that SB 302 does not run afoul of Article 11, Section 10, which prohibits the use of public funds for sectarian purpose.

National Coalition for Public Education Letter to Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee Opposing Reauthorization of D.C. School Voucher Program

NSBA and 54 other organizations, as part of the National Coalition for Public Education, wrote this letter to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs to voice opposition to reauthorization of the District of Columbia private school voucher program. In the letter, the coalition stated "We oppose this and all private school voucher programs because public funds should be spent on public schools, not private schools. But the D.C. program, in particular, has proven ineffective and unaccountable to taxpayers.

In a letter to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, NSBA and more than 50 organizations, as members of the National Coalition for Public Education (NCPE), urged Congress to oppose the reauthorization of the DC school voucher program.
