Getting Started

Your Identification Number

National Affiliate IDLet’s begin with what happens when you send in your application to become a National Affiliate. Your information is processed and sent to the National Affiliate staff and to our database team. Your district information is updated and your National Affiliate identification number is assigned. At that point you will begin to receive all National Affiliate mailings and information. You will receive an email from the National Affiliate Services Coordinator welcoming you to the program. Included in the email will be your identification number so that you can begin to access information that is on the Members Only section of NSBA’s National Affiliate website. The district will also receive a fax that provides the forms necessary for access to the National Education Policy Network (NEPN). At that time the district will be asked for a name of the board member your board and superintendent believe should serve as your National Affiliate Advocacy Network (NAAN) representative. About a month after you send in your enrollment form you should receive a membership card and a letter welcoming you to the program.

School Board News Address PanelYou don’t have to wait for that membership card to take advantage of the members only services. When you receive your first issue of the award-winning School Board News, your membership number will be on the address panel. You can also email any of the National Affiliate staff to obtain your identification number.
