Life on a School Board

“Life on a School Board” is a project designed to celebrate your hard work and dedication to your local school district and community.  Our goal is to help new National Affiliate school board members understand the excitement, the challenges, the successes, and even the failures you have faced so that they can learn through your experiences. It is an opportunity to preserve and share your thoughts about being a school board member with the entire education community.

In the April 1999 issue of New Horizons for Learning Journal, Michale Gabriel talked about storytelling.  Michale said that stories “...comfort, they nurture, they capture our imaginations, they ignite our creativity, they take us away to a place where 'time stands still.  They invest our lives with meaning, and render our lives more meaningful."  We think that “Life on a School Board” can make such a difference.

We will be posting a new story every month.  If you have a story to share please contact Crissy O’Donnell at Codonnell@nsba.org.
