Washington D.C.
Washington, DC is accessible from three major airports:
- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) – closest to the city; about a $25 taxicab ride to the Hilton.
- Dulles International Airport (IAD) - about $65 for taxicab ride.
- Thurgood Marshall Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) – about $79 taxicab ride.
Those traveling through the Northeast corridor can also take the Amtrak train directly into Washington (DC) Union Station. Metro connects at Union Station.
The Washington Metro Access and Transit Authority rail system (Metro) closest stop is at the Dupont Circle Metro station (on the Red Line). Exit at the Q Street exit for easiest access to the Hilton. The Hilton Washington is within walking distance (four blocks), but this is a somewhat difficult walk with luggage because it is uphill walk to the Hilton. If you want to take Metro from the airport to the Dupont Circle station, getting a taxicab from the station would be a good idea if you are transporting luggage. All three airports have connectors to the Metro system, but as you might imagine the connections from Dulles and BWI are more difficult (but certainly doable). Check out these websites for details:
For Metro Information from BWI, click here.
Metro now offers BWI Express Metro bus service between BWI and the Greenbelt metro station. The service provides a direct connection between BWI and the Greenbelt Metro Station. The BWI Express/B30 service runs every 40 minutes, 7 days a week to the Greenbelt Metro Station, which is located on the Green Line of the Washington Metro System. Buses run 25 times each weekday and 21 times on Saturdays and Sunday, every 40 minutes.

The buses depart approximately every 30 minutes but please listen for announcements for exact bus departure times. Click here for schedule and ticket prices. You may purchase a Metrorail fare card inside the train station at the West Falls Church Metro stop where you will board the train. Trains bound for "New Carrollton" will take you towards Downtown Washington, DC.

The Metro connections are certainly less costly than a single taxicab ride, two or three persons sharing a cab from any of the airports becomes less costly because the several riders share the cost.
