Changing the Grade
A revolution is occurring in Adams County School District 50. If it succeeds, the district will overturn a public school icon: the grade level. Starting this year, elementary and middle school students are being grouped by level, not age, and the reform moves to the high school next year.

School Board News
School Board News Today, a new web-only resource published by the National School Boards Association, has a new look and focus. Each weekday, you will be able to access news and information about current events that are important to your work as school district leaders.

As important news breaks, you will see online-only stories published that feature the perspective of NSBA’s leadership. School Board News Today will also feature links to NSBA’s press releases, position statements, and key issues and events.

Starting this weekend, our staff will be covering NSBA’s Leadership Conference and the Federal Relations Network meeting, posting stories and pictures throughout the day from Saturday through Tuesday. We also will do the same for NSBA’s 70th Annual Conference, which will be held April 10-12 in Chicago.

Obama administration proposes changes to NCLB
The Christian Science Monitor reports that the Obama administration has released a blueprint for overhauling the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). This blueprint will be considered by Congress as it reauthorizes NCLB.
