Regional meetings highlight strategic planning
Fall '09 -- At this year’s regional meetings, state association directors and their officers are participating in the strategic planning process to guide the future of NSBA.
The activity is part of a year-long effort and comes at a critical time for associations and school boards. NSBA began its process earlier this year with a programs and operations review and has hired Lisa Yates, a principal at ACS Quantum Strategies.
In recent months, Yates also has conducted sessions with the NSBA staff and will be working with the State Associations executive directors at their Summer Institute and with State Associations presidents at their retreat. Input from CUBE and other National Affiliate districts will be used as well as from the NSBA Caucuses, the Council of School Attorneys, the past presidents of NSBA, the Technology Leadership Network, and corporate partners.
“It’s important for the NSBA Board of Directors to hear from everyone with a stake in NSBA’s success to inform the strategic planning process, and we are delighted with the engagement we have seen from the regional participants,” said Anne L. Bryant, NSBA’s executive director.
Yates will compile a report to guide NSBA’s board of directors as they craft a strategic plan at their meeting in October.
