New service helps find information on grants

Fall '09 -- NSBA’s National Affiliate members now have access to a wealth of information about grant opportunities at no cost or reduced rates through GrantsQuest, a company that helps school districts and businesses create or improve their development programs. The company is knowledgeable about new opportunities available through the federal stimulus funding along with corporate and foundation opportunities.

The GrantWatch Report is a Web-based newsletter featuring federal, state, and private grant opportunities for districts, schools, and individual teachers. It also includes grantwriting tips and insights from the most experienced professionals across the country as well as other resources. Published bi-monthly, the newsletter will be provided to NSBA and is available free to National Affiliate members on the National Affiliate Grants website, www.nsba.org/school grants. In addition, alerts regarding specific grant opportunities and other information will be available on the grants website, so check back often.

Another free feature, the GrantsQuest Client Vendor Match Program, will give National Affiliate districts an opportunity to include a profile in the database program for each school in their district that identifies specific needs. In turn, each school could be matched with one of the vendors in the program that provides services to meet those needs with the opportunity to receive free grant writing services through commercial sponsorship.

Other services available at discounted rates include:

• Online Courses: A full slate of self-paced on-line courses is offered for indivdual teachers, staff, or board members, $99.95 per registration.

• Webinars: Webinars regarding grant development and funding trends, etc., and other topics will be offered quarterly, $49.95 per registration.

• Funding database subscription: The most comprehensive online grant opportunities database available on the web, searchable by keyword selection, individual search terms, and state eligibility. Available beginning this fall for $399.95.

• Workshops: Grant development workshops are offered across the country, $499.95 per registration.

• Consultation services: National Affiliate districts will have access to consultants to help with grantwriting, searches, and other needs, at a 15-percent discount.
