FIRST ANNUAL TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION SHOWCASE
This showcase is designed to build awareness by highlighting six companies each year that represent a broad sample of innovative solutions positively impacting one of four key areas of the K-12 enterprise. NSBA's 1st Annual Technology Innovation Showcase conference session in San Diego was a huge success, 160 attendees enjoyed interacting with emerging companies as they introduced new approaches to old problems. And, the Technology Showcase Pavilion (located in the exhibit hall) was buzzing with exciting ideas and discussion throughout the conference.
STAY TUNED - Nominations will be opening soon!
Since 1992 select school districts have been honored by NSBA's Technology Leadership Network (TLN) for their technology achievements each year. Salute Districts are excellent examples of the good things that can happen when technology efforts are well executed. Collaboration and teamwork, continuous improvement, parental engagement and the seamless integration of technology across district operations and the curriculum to support all students are common themes. This recognition frequently provides an opportunity to gain national press coverage for the Salute Districts.

DIGITAL SCHOOL BOARDS SURVEY
The Survey’s purpose is to recognize school districts and school boards across the nation whose use of digital technology in interfacing with students, parents and community, district governing, and bettering of operations proved exceptional. Participation in the survey is open to all U.S. public school districts which are placed in three categories for consideration based on the size of their student enrollment. Districts which demonstrate the most comprehensive use of digital standards are chosen as the top ten-ranking districts. The survey, a collaboration between e.Republic’s Center for Digital Education, the National School Boards Association and Converge Online
magazine takes place annually.
20 TO WATCH
Technology Leadership Network (TLN) has named its “20 to Watch” honors for 2012-2013.
The National School Boards Association’s Technology Leadership Network (TLN) each year honors 20 emerging leaders in education technology. These individuals are recognized by TLN for championing technology initiatives that make a difference for students, teachers, school districts, and the greater education technology community. TLN TRAILBLAZER AWARD
Every few years NSBA recognizes a TLN member with the Trailblazer Award
. This honor is reserved for previous TLN Salute Districts
that have gone far beyond their first recognition. It was first given in 2002 to the Henrico County Public Schools, Virginia to acknowledge their leadership role in establishing the largest district laptop program in the nation. In 2004, the Trailblazer honor went to Community Consolidated School District #15 in Illinois, recognizing its special accomplishment as a Malcolm Baldrige Award winner. Then in 2006 Louisiana's Calcasieu Parish Public Schools were recognized as a Trailblazer Award
recipient as a result of the comprehensive technology planning that allowed the district to serve not only students and faculty, but their community at a time of crisis after Hurricane Rita. Recent recipients include:
2010 Township High School District 214, IL.
2011-2012 Orange City Schools, Ohio
If you feel your district has experienced an extraordinary accomplishment since your initial recognition as a TLN Salute district, please describe the new initiative in an e-mail to Ann Flynn
