Patrick Sherman
President
Patrick L. Sherman has been a member of the Genoa City J2 school board since 1991, serving seven years as president. He has also served on the Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union High School board since 1997 and is currently president. In his local community, he is also a member of the Genoa City Planning Commission.
Sherman represented Region 13 on the Wisconsin Association of School Boards Board of Directors from 1994 to 2003 and was president of the WASB in 2001. He served on the executive committee from 2000-2003. He chaired the Policy and Resolutions Committee in 2000 and the Convention Planning Committee in 2002.
Sherman has also been active in the National School Boards Association (NSBA). He was a convention delegate in 2000-2002 and served on the NSBA Policy and Resolutions Committee. He was a candidate for the NSBA Board of Directors in 2003.
John Ashley
Executive Director
John Ashley has been the executive director of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, Inc. (WASB) since September of 2005. Prior to working at the WASB, he was the division administrator for Educational Services at the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board, Madison, Wisconsin. He also worked for the University of Wisconsin-Madison – Learning Innovations as the Business Development Manager for Corporate Relations.
Ashley graduated from Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts and also did graduate work at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois and the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He serves on: Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control, Fire Prevention Administrative Code Revisions Committee, and Madison Area Technical College Board of Trustees.
Born in Milwaukee, he has lived in the town of Troy in Sauk County for the last twenty-five years.
