Lawrence "Jack" Montgomery
President

Jack Montgomery has served on the Brownstown school board for 24 + years, having served as President for 13 years, Secretary for 3 years and ISBA Legislative Liaison for 4 years.  Jack has also served on the Negotiations Team, Attendance Committee, Athletic Council, Discipline Committee and Superintendent Search Team (twice as chair).   He is an active participant in his community and was re-appointed to another four-year term on the local school board ending in June 2012. 

Aside from school board responsibilities, Jack has served or is serving on various community involvement organizations such as Brownstown Health Center, Inc., Jackson County Fair Association, Greater Crothersville Heritage Foundation, Schneck Memorial Hospital Foundation, Brownstown Exchange Club, Jackson County Industrial Development Corporation, Jackson County Red Cross, Elks Lodge #462, Brownstown Chamber of Commerce and notably as a volunteer for 40 years as the public address announcer for Brownstown Central High School boys/girls basketball, volleyball and football.

Jack and his wife attend the Brownstown Presbyterian Church and he serving as a quasi-retiree as the Senior Vice President/Operations & Marketing for The Peoples Bank in Brownstown.


Dr. Frank A. Bush
Executive Director

Dr. Frank Bush, prior to joining ISBA, served as a high school social studies teacher and coach for three years, a secondary school counselor for three years, a secondary administrator for four years, an adjunct university professor for eight years part-time while employed as a superintendent of schools for twelve years. Bush received degrees from Indiana State University (BS-1965), Western Kentucky University (MA-1967) and Indiana University (EdD-1976).

As executive director, Bush represents the membership of ISBA on numerous state committees and advisory commissions. The mixture of educational background and practical public school experience allows him to respond well to the concerns of local school boards.

Bush is the chief lobbyist for the ISBA at the Indiana General Assembly. In this capacity, he is in direct communication with legislators and with the standing committees of the General Assembly.

As executive director, he coordinates and supervises the activities of the ISBA staff. And, he is responsible for general Association business and concerns.
