DeSoto School District USD 232

The Future of Learning • May 1-3, 2005

De Soto Unified School District #232 is inspiring the creative genius in each child because it is its mission. That is why students are engaged in digital learning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can connect to files, applications and each other at any time, from any place. A new learning environment exists that's transforming USD 232. It's the 21st Century Teaching and Learning Initiative. In a nutshell, it extends learning beyond the school day.

At De Soto #232, you'll find students and staff computing with mobile personal learning devices (PLD) through the thin client system. Corporations would aspire to implement the thin client architecture they have right now. All new buildings are opened with wireless networking, IP Telephony, and remote access via the thin client web portal. The aggressive implementation schedule provides a timeline for integration and upgrade of technologies in all schools. They advanced from prototype to full implementation in less than one year.

De Soto USD #232 is inventing the future of the learning environment!
