Associated School Boards of South Dakota
Executive Director Dr. Wayne Lueders joined Associated School Boards of South Dakota (ASBSD) in 2004 after serving in several leadership capacities during his 31 years with the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB).
Since joining ASBSD, Lueders has led the organization through a mission and vision setting process, incorporating a modern emphasis on advocacy and school board leadership focused on improving student achievement.
ASBSD’s renewed focus stems from Lueders’ extensive experience in school board leadership. As a member of the IASB Lighthouse Inquiry team, Lueders an integral role in developing a research-based model for the school board’s role in improving student achievement. Lueders also supervised the development of IASB’s comprehensive board development program, titled the Academy of Board Learning Experiences (ABLE).
During his time at IASB, Lueders spearheaded superintendent search services, the creation of a policy reference manual and the development of a Safety Group Insurance Program.
Lueders has a B.S. in Education, a M.S. in Educational Administration and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration – all from Iowa State University.
