NHC Scholarship Program

Since its inception in 1998, the National Hispanic Caucus of School Board Members Scholarship Program has assisted over 40 students with college expenses such as books and tuition. This year, the Caucus will offer ten $1000 scholarships (two per NSBA region).
The National Hispanic Caucus of School Board Members offers scholarships to students who meet the following criteria:
- student must be of Hispanic origin;
- student must be eligible to graduate from a public high school in 2008;
- student must provide proof of acceptance to an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning with the intention to complete a four-year degree; and
- student must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a four-point scale.
Scoring to determine awards will be based on the quality of and content of the application with additional points being awarded to those pursuing a degree in education.
