Abstract:
This policy presents the vision statement, mission statement, and bylaws of El Paso Independent School District’s (EPISD) School Health Advisory Council (SHAC). Its goal is to advise EPISD decision-makers on students’ needs and assets related to health knowledge and skills, policies and procedures that impact student health, and the health of the school environment. The policy outlines authorities and responsibilities; the content of meetings and how often they should be held; and information on membership criteria. It also discusses the terms of service and responsibilities of officers; the executive, nominating, substantive standing, and ad hoc committees; and the coordinator.
