Healthy Schools, Healthy Kids

Abstract:
This article discusses the need for schools to invest in the health of their students in order to improve their academic performance. The components of a coordinated school health model are reviewed, as well as examples of model implementation at the school district level. Information about how school districts can develop health programs from state resources and why districts need to make children’s health a priority on their education agenda is explored.
