About EDLO
The NSBA Extended-Day Learning Opportunities (EDLO) program is a national initiative to promote school board leadership for high-quality after-school programs for all students. The primary goals of the program are to:
- Raise awareness among school board leaders of what quality after-school programs are and how they can help improve public education;
- Assist state school boards associations and local school boards in building and sustaining after-school programs and infrastructures; and
- Increase the visibility of school boards as leaders and key partners in the after-school movement and policy dialogue at the local, state, and national levels.
The EDLO program is part of the Research, Training, and Member Services department within the Federation Member Services and Outreach section of NSBA. Eight NSBA Federation Members partner with NSBA on the EDLO program, including:
