NSBA Mourns the Loss of School Health Leader and Advocate Brenda Z. Greene

February 7, 2012 - It’s with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of NSBA’s former Director of School Health Programs Brenda Z. Greene on February 3, 2012. Brenda began working at the National School Boards Association (NSBA) in 1983 and became the Director of School Health Programs in 1987 when the organization received its first funding award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Adolescent and School Health. She remained in that position until her retirement in July 2011. Brenda was an incredible advocate for healthy students and healthy schools, and she will be missed by NSBA and many others she touched throughout her life and career. For further details on Brenda’s contributions to NSBA and school health, view NSBA’s press release.

Memorial contributions in Brenda’s honor may be made to: Capital Caring, Attn: Philanthropy Dept. 2900 Telestar Ct. Falls Church, VA 22042. A guest book where memories and condolences on Brenda can be shared has been made available.
