Webinar on Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs for Latino Youth

March 11, 2010 - This month, the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy will host a webinar on replicating effective and promising teen pregnancy prevention programs for Latino youth. 

When:  Tuesday, March 23, 2010
Time:  1:30 – 2:30 pm EDT

The webinar will focus on the following questions:

1) What programs have the best evidence of success among Latino youth?

2) How do I select a program that’s the right fit for my community? and

3) What do we know in general about strategies and messages on pregnancy prevention that resonate with Latino youth?

National Campaign staff will also share some of the Campaign’s research that may inform one’s approach to developing programs for the Latino community.   

In addition, they will provide practical information on programs that reduce teen pregnancy which might be eligible for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s funding announcement to be released this spring.   Through a competitive award process, this initiative will provide $75 million for replicating programs with strong evidence of success and another $25 million for research and demonstration grants to develop, test, and refine promising programs and innovative strategies to reduce teen pregnancy.
