School Wellness Policies Web Seminar
October 16, 2008 – Want to know if your school’s wellness policies are working? Register for the upcoming web seminar offered by the District Administration Magazine: “School Wellness Policies: Do you have one – and is it working?”
When: Tuesday, October 21, 2:00 to 3:00 pm ET
Content: The web seminar’s main objective is to help schools better evaluate their wellness policies. The web seminar will answer the following questions:
1) Why should you assess your school wellness policy?
2) How can a district measure the success of its wellness policy?
3) What tools are available to help school wellness? and
4) What role should physical activity play in a school wellness policy?
Who can benefit: School board members and other district stakeholder, superintendents, school-based administrators, health curriculum coordinators, athletic directors, physical education coordinators, and food service administrators.
Featured speakers: Richard A. Abramson, Superintendent in Maine; Leslie Lytle, Ph.D., Professor, Division of Epidemiology and Community Health, University of MN; and Greg Welk, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Kinesiology, Iowa State University.
Attendees will be able to submit questions to speakers via chat mode within the Q&A portion of the web seminar.
