Participate in National PE Day
On May 2 and 3, join PE4life, Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association (SGMA), champion celebrity athletes, top industry leaders, educators and physical education advocates to support and celebrate PE4life’s annual National PE Day as well as honor the achievements of individuals and organizations committed to physical education and healthy lifestyles for children. This is the 6th Annual National PE Day and event activities will be held in Washington, DC.
National PE Day presents a great opportunity to celebrate and recognize the importance of quality physical education in the nation’s schools. Events being held to celebrate National PE Day include the PE4life Annual Awards Gala and Benefit Dinner and silent auction on May 2, where Mia Flamm, Steve Young, Bill Russell, Tim Brown and other celebrity athletes are expected to attend to honor those who champion quality physical education. Also, on May 3, members of Congress will be visited in support of the Carol M. White Physical Education for Progress (PEP) grant program. To date, this program has secured more than $300 million for the improvement of physical education programs nationwide.
