Our Mission
Healthy Students Learn Better: Working with and through
State School Boards Associations, NSBA's School Health Programs promotes healthy schools as a means to foster excellence and equity in public education.
Program Support and Overview
NSBA's School Health Programs helps school policymakers make informed decisions by providing relevant and up-to-date information, technical assistance, and professional development on health policy and practice through a coordinated school health (CSH) approach. Activities are supported by the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and NSBA.
NSBA's School Health Programs Can Help You Improve Health and Learning By:
- Providing up-to-date information on school health issues and useful tools to support important practices;
- Distilling the latest research on school health topics;
- Providing sample policies and assisting school districts with policy analysis and planning;
- Communicating success stories to encourage local district actions;
- Connecting schools with potential national, state, and local partners;
- Conducting workshops and presentations at national conferences and in partnership with state school boards associations; and
- Partnering with state school boards associations, state education and health departments, and national organizations and agencies to ensure school board and local district perspectives are addressed.
